Earlier this year, I started working in the *exciting* world of insurance wooo. I’m working on getting a certification for Associate in Insurance (AINS). As my exam will be in the upcoming months, I will use this blog to teach you (well, actually me) about insurance!
I signed up for a course and the exam on The Institutes. The requirements for the AINS certification are as follows:
- Complete the core course – Master Insurance Basics
- One concentration course
- One elective course
- Complete the Ethical Decision Making in Risk and Insurance course
I have already completed the Ethics course and may or may not cover it. I will cover the other required courses of my choice in upcoming blog posts. They will be linked here as I complete them. I am also adding the dates I pass the exams because it makes me feel accomplished. 🙂
- Core: AINS 101: Increasing Your Insurance IQ (passed exam on 10/18/22!)
- Concentration: AINS 102: Understanding Personal Insurance (passed exam on 12/14/22!)
- Why Do People Need Insurance?
- What’s in a Personal Auto Policy?
- What’s in a Homeowners Policy?
- What Other Policies Do People Need?
- How Is Personal Insurance Evolving?
- What Are the Key Personal Insurer Roles?
- Elective: AINS 103: Exploring Commercial Insurance (passed exam on 12/16/22)
Update 1/28/23: I’ve been busy in the past months and didn’t get the chance to update this! I passed all of my exams (yay!), but unfortunately do not feel the need to write down notes for the rest of this series, so I will be discontinuing it. Thus, that wraps it up. If anyone desperately wants to me to take notes on this, I could. But let’s face it, who the hell is reading this random blog post about insurance? 😂
